Cookin up a storm

I got a lot done today and this weekend in general. You know, it really helped that I had a plan. I knew on Friday that we were going to work on the house all day on Saturday, and Sunday I was to work on my continuing education hours for work. That was all I planned. But, as it turns out, I got even more done than that.
Friday, after painting the kitchen, we went out to eat with a friend at de o'malleys pizza pub. (they have fabulous gluten free pizza there!) Then we even spoiled ourselves and got culvers custard for dessert. We then watched fellowship of the ring. (i only made it half way through before falling asleep)
Saturday we went to the house at 9:00 and finished painting, I mopped the hardwood floor (twice) to prep it for varnish. I helped sweep and vacuum the bathroom, living room, spare bedroom, and the kitchen! All but the kitchen are ready for the flooring to be installed! We installed the carpet pad in the spare room, and unrolled the carpet to prep it. I also made delicious Bacon, eggs and potatoes for lunch! That evening, we went grocery shopping and watched some ghost adventures.
This morning, I helped Billie over the phone with making soup. I started and finished my continuing ed! And make a batch of chocolate chip cookies, made gluten free black raspberry scones (with berries we wildcrafted last July and froze) (the scones Aw pretty ugly, but taste awesome!) I did all the dishes too :) our friend came over to make dinner. I made a salad, he made chicken bruschetta, and oven roasted potatoes. Delicious! Then we also whipped up a batch of grasshoppers! Now I'm in bed.

It feels so great to look back and list all of this, I feel so accomplished even if all these Things are small, when I add them up it makes a big difference!

So if I had to say anything, id say:

Start with a plan, then look back and see what else you accomplished!

It's a great feeling when you surpassed your original plan!

its going to be great year!

Happy 2012!! On Jan 1st, i woke up, and instantly thought out loud "It's going to be a great year!" I feel like this set my mood for the entire week so far! and hopefully for the year! I have been in a great mood, getting things done, cleaning, enjoying myself, and just feeling plain ol' great! Being in this mood has definitely helped my spiritual growth as well. I feel more connected to the Earth, and more appreciative of Her beauty! Upon waking on the 1st, i looked outside and the ground was covered in a blanket of snow, and it was still coming down. as much as i dislike this b/c i dont want to move in snow, i am glad it held off as long as it did. this winter has been very mild so far. It continued to snow the rest of the day and into the evening. The winds picked up and were getting real nasty with it's bitter whips of icy gusts. I had to take the dog out, and honestly, being a wisconsinite i decided it would be quick enough to not put a coat on. I knew i would be freezing, but whatever. So im standing there and as i maintained the warmth i had inside, an icy gust blew through my hair and across my face. I looked up at the street light and noticed the beauty of the snow coming down in big fluffy flakes. I held out my arms and welcomed the wind. As i did, it picked up again, and i pictured my spirit stretching out behind me, still attached to me, but just stretching out of me slightly. As the wind was whipping through me, i felt that the air elementals were communing with me, cleansing me, and readying me for coming year. for about 3 years now i have a very intersting relationship with the air elementals. I love it. never before have i been interested in communing with the spirits, until camping once...more on that another day. anyways, so eventually i pulled my spirit back into myself, called the dog back and walked inside. Phew! what a great feeling!
today the sun was out, bright and blinding white! what a wonderful feeling, even though it was freezing out, i really appreciated the suns light and warmth. this is just another expample of how i feel more connected! i love it and i really hope i can keep this up!

Thank you blessed Elementals! You have helped me gain a deeper appreciation for you and the blessed Earth!
Blessings to all!
